This special event invites guests on a lively two-hour musical journey through the 1940's, 50's, and 60's, brought to life by the vibrant team at Ragdolly Annas.
Set in the centre of Midsummer Place Boulevard, the event has been specially created with care home residents in mind, combining music, movement, and memories for a truly unforgettable afternoon.
In collaboration with Ragdolly Anna's, the experience begins with the wartime announcement and guides attendees through key moments in history leading up to VE Day, followed by the jubilant post-war celebrations and a glimpse into life in the decades that followed. The soundtrack features beloved classics from the 1950's and 60's.
“We’re incredibly proud to host such a meaningful and uplifting event at Midsummer Place,” says Kirsty McGiff, Marketing Manager. “It’s a beautiful way to bring the community together in honour of the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.”
The performances will take place twice on 8 May: at 11:00 AM (following the two-minute silence) and again at 2:00 PM.
Everyone is welcome to come along and soak up the celebratory atmosphere – whether you're watching the cheerful dancing, tapping along to the music, or simply enjoying the moment. Grab a tea or coffee, treat yourself to a slice of cake, and relax in the food court while you enjoy the entertainment – it’s the perfect way to pause and pay tribute.
