Creative Team Reactions

Dennis Kelly, Writer:
"It’s fantastic to bring this little girl’s story to audiences in their home cities and towns, and to theatres where theatre really matters."

Tim Minchin, Composer & Lyricist:
"When we first worked on this show, we set out to create a small but special musical for the RSC’s Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. We never imagined it would still be running in the West End, become a film, and now set off on its second UK and Ireland tour. I’m incredibly proud of Matilda The Musical and everyone who brings it to life with such passion and energy."

Matthew Warchus, Director:
"I’m thrilled that a new generation of children and families across the UK and Ireland will get to experience Matilda The Musical live on stage. It’s a production we deeply care about, with a message of courage and resilience that continues to resonate with audiences of all ages."

Daniel Evans & Tamara Harvey, RSC Co-Artistic Directors:
"Years after her debut in Stratford-upon-Avon, Matilda Wormwood is still teaching us that ‘sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty.’ We can’t wait to share her story with audiences across the country."

Further casting, additional tour dates, and creative team details will be announced in due course.
