We Tried Lunch at Urban Food Market at Unity Place – and We’ll Be Back

Located inside the impressive new Santander building,
Unity Place is open to everyone – not just those who work there – making it a fantastic option for catching up with friends, meeting colleagues, or simply escaping your desk for an hour.
We popped along one lunchtime to see what all the fuss was about, and it's safe to say we left impressed.
One of the first things that struck us was the variety on offer. Alongside freshly baked pastries, cakes, coffees, fruit and a huge salad bar,
Urban Food Market also hosts a selection of independent food vendors that rotate regularly. It's a clever concept that keeps the offering fresh and gives visitors something new to try each time they visit.
On the day we visited, the choices included pizzas, jacket potatoes and kebabs. We opted for the kebabs and were not disappointed. The portions were generous, offering excellent value for money, and packed with flavour. A particularly welcome surprise was discovering that the kebabs come with chips tucked inside, although one of our colleagues chose to have theirs served on the side instead. Either way, the meal was incredibly filling and satisfying.
Of course, no lunch is complete without something sweet, so we couldn't resist trying a couple of treats from the bakery selection. The pastel de nata and ginger loaf cake were both delicious and the perfect way to round off our meal.
Beyond the food, the space itself is a huge part of the appeal. The market is bright, spacious and relaxed, with plenty of seating available. Whether you're looking for somewhere to work remotely for a few hours, meet friends for lunch, catch up with colleagues, or bring little ones along, it ticks all the boxes. The generous layout and easy access make it particularly welcoming for parents with pushchairs, while the comfortable atmosphere encourages you to slow down and enjoy your time there.
For us, it was a welcome opportunity to step away from the office, leave our desks behind and enjoy a proper lunch break with colleagues. It's something we probably don't do often enough, and Urban Food Market provided the perfect setting to reconnect over good food.
If you're looking for a new lunchtime spot in Milton Keynes, Urban Food Market at Unity Place offers great food, friendly service, plenty of choice and a relaxed atmosphere that's hard not to enjoy.
Highly recommended.
