A Magical Team Challenge at Escape Hunt Milton Keynes

We were invited along by the brilliant team at the logo for escape hunt milton keynes is white on a black background .Escape Hunt Milton Keynes to experience their Aladdin and the Magic Vault room at a blue cross with the word xscape below it .Xscape — and what an adventure it turned out to be.

Our group was a real mix: half of us had tackled escape rooms before, while the other half were complete first-timers. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at ease. Duty Manager Gladson greeted us warmly, ran through everything clearly and thoroughly, and built the excitement perfectly. By the time we were ready to enter the room, we were absolutely raring to go — especially a couple of very competitive team members who had their sights firmly set on the leaderboard!

The Story: A Race to Recover the Lamp

Without giving too much away (because that would be like showing your hand at poker), the adventure transports you into a magical Arabian world.

The premise? The legendary lamp has fallen into the hands of a powerful and vengeful sorcerer. Hidden deep within a heavily protected vault, layered with spells and secrets, it’s up to your team to break in, outsmart the magic, and rescue the genie before it’s too late.

It’s dramatic, high-stakes and instantly immersive — the perfect backdrop for a fast-paced team challenge.

Game Faces On…

Once inside, it was game time.

You have 60 minutes to escape, working your way through puzzles, clues, hidden mechanisms and clever problem-solving challenges. The room is designed for 2–6 players — and we’d agree that more than six would be a squeeze.

What we loved about this room was the progression. Solving one clue unlocks another, leading you deeper into the experience. There are three separate spaces to navigate through as you work your way towards retrieving the lamp, each one bringing a fresh set of surprises.

If you do get completely stuck, there’s a tambourine in the room — give it a shake and help is on hand. A member of staff monitors the experience via camera, and in our case, they were fully committed to the role-play. At one point we were laughing at commentary about how a certain member of our team (no names mentioned…) was holding a sword “incorrectly”. We also had one slightly overenthusiastic “sorcerer” among us who may have got a little carried away with their wand-wielding responsibilities!

From start to finish, we were completely immersed. The set design, the atmosphere and the magical details made it feel like we’d stepped into another world.

And the big question — did we escape?

We did.

And yes, we made the leaderboard.

Go team MyMK! The challenge is on… are you tempted to try and beat us?

Post-Game Celebrations

After escaping, we had the chance to grab some themed photos with props (highly recommended for victory shots), and Gladson served up some special themed cocktails.

If you’re a gin fan, there’s a very cool “drink me” extra that adds a bit of theatrical flair to your cocktail. Even as a non-gin drinker, there was definite cocktail envy at the table!
