YMCA MK Launches Christmas Appeal to Support Local Young People

This Christmas, YMCA Milton Keynes is putting the spotlight on the life-changing role it plays for young people in crisis, with an appeal that centres on the charity as a safe haven and so much more.

The appeal shares the powerful story of *Joe, a

YMCA resident who connected with the organisation at Christmas during a desperate time in his life.

“The truth is… if I hadn’t been referred to the YMCA by the nurse that day, I would probably be dead by now… but instead, I have hope in life again and there’s reason to get up in the mornings, hope for the future!” says Joe.

Joe’s story began when he arrived at A&E on Christmas Day, struggling to stay warm after sleeping rough. Discharged from the hospital following a serious medical issue, he had quickly spiraled into crisis. Thanks to a referral to YMCA, he not only found a safe place to live but also received the vital support he needed to rebuild his life.

Joe’s story is one of many. Across the region, young people face homelessness, family breakdown, and the challenges of leaving care—often with no one to turn to. YMCA Milton Keynes is committed to changing that, providing vulnerable young people with a place to call home, a supportive community, and the reassurance that they are not alone this Christmas.

There are 2 great ways for the community to support them - a Reverse Advent Calendar or Donate.
