Adapted for the stage by Oscar-winner Aaron Sorkin, the smash-hit Broadway and West End production of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird comes to
Milton Keynes Theatre from Tue 19 – Sat 23 May.
‘ALL RISE for this powerfully uplifting theatrical event’
Evening Standard
Aaron Sorkin’s gripping stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s seminal American novel—exploring racial injustice and childhood innocence—became a sell-out sensation on both Broadway and the West End. Now, it embarks on its first-ever UK & Ireland tour, visiting Milton Keynes Theatre this May.
At the heart of the story is successful lawyer Atticus Finch, who instils values of kindness and empathy in his children. However, he is pushed to his limits when he takes on a case that challenges a town determined to keep the truth hidden.
Set in 1934 Alabama, To Kill a Mockingbird draws on Harper Lee’s own childhood experiences and has sold more than 45 million copies worldwide. The novel was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Literature and spent many years among the most frequently banned books.
