This gripping adaptation of JB Priestley’s classic thriller features Tim Treloar (Richard II, RSC) as the mysterious Inspector Goole. He’s joined by Jackie Morrison (Dirty Dancing, Dominion Theatre) as Mrs Birling, Jeffrey Harmer (Bird Song, Original Theatre Company) as Mr Birling, and Tom Chapman (Cymbeline, RSC) as Gerald Croft. The cast also includes Leona Allen as Sheila Birling, George Rowlands as Eric Birling, and Alice Darling as Edna. Completing the company are Katy Dean, Michael Gukas, Pena Iiyambo, Simon Pothecary, and Philip Stewart.

Set in 1912, the story begins when Inspector Goole arrives unannounced at the wealthy Birling household, interrupting their celebratory dinner. His investigation into the tragic death of a young woman unravels a web of secrets, forcing each character—and the audience—to confront uncomfortable truths. With themes of social responsibility, class, and conscience, it remains as powerful and timely today as ever.

Daldry’s iconic production first premiered in 1992 and has since captivated over 5 million theatre-goers worldwide, collecting an impressive 19 major awards along the way—including four Tony Awards and three Olivier Awards.

Stephen Daldry is one of the UK’s most acclaimed directors across theatre, film, and television. His work spans celebrated stage productions (Billy Elliot, The Inheritance, An Inspector Calls), award-nominated films, and high-profile TV projects like The Crown, where he served as Executive Producer and directed the final episode. His latest theatrical venture, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, opened in London’s West End in December 2023.

Beyond the stage and screen, Daldry is also known for his cultural contributions, including producing the 2012 London Olympics ceremonies and directing Vogue World: London in 2023. He chairs the refugee arts charity Good Chance and sits on the board of The Perlman Performing Arts Center in New York.
