The Chichester Festival Theatre production of Irving Berlin’s Top Hat has announced its cast for the 2025 UK tour, opening 18 September at New Victoria Theatre Woking. Reprising their roles from Chichester are Phillip Attmore (So You Think You Can Dance) as Jerry Travers, Sally Ann Triplett (Cabaret) as Madge Hardwick, James Clyde (Matilda the Musical) as Bates, and Alex Gibson-Giorgio (Mamma Mia!) as Alberto Beddini. Joining the cast are Amara Okereke (My Fair Lady) as Dale Tremont and James Hume (Kiss Me Kate) as Horace Hardwick. Further casting will be announced for 2026 UK and Ireland tour dates.
Phillip Attmore, one of Broadway’s most exciting performers, makes his UK debut as Jerry Travers. His credits include Shuffle Along (Fred and Adele Astaire Award for Best Male Dancer), On the 20th Century (Playbill Breakout Performance Award), Hello, Dolly!, Cheek to Cheek: Irving Berlin in Hollywood, and TV’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Amara Okereke won the 2018 Stage Debut Award for Les Misérables as Cosette and has since starred as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Oklahoma! at Chichester, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Spring Awakening at the Almeida. She will also appear in the upcoming film The Choral.
James Hume’s theatre credits include Kiss Me Kate (Barbican), A Christmas Carol (Old Vic), and The Phantom of the Opera (West End & UK/Ireland Tour). He is also a recipient of the Toni Fell Competition and Hilda Deane Award.
Sally Ann Triplett’s distinguished London roles include Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, Gran in The Witches, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes (WhatsOnStage Award, National Theatre), and Aunt Eller in Oklahoma!.
James Clyde has performed extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company in productions including King Lear, Cymbeline, Tamburlaine, Tartuffe, Timon of Athens, Romeo and Juliet, Days of Significance, Comedy of Errors, and Twelfth Night, as well as Mr. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical.
Alex Gibson-Giorgio’s theatre credits include Sinatra The Musical, Zorro The Musical, Rags, and Mamma Mia! (Australia Tour). His TV work includes One Day for Netflix and Taika Waititi’s Time Bandits for Apple TV+.

The story follows Broadway star Jerry Travers as he arrives in London to open a new show. He meets model Dale Tremont after tap-dancing above her hotel suite disturbs her beauty sleep. Jerry instantly falls for Dale, vowing to abandon his bachelor life—but misunderstandings, a fiery Italian admirer, and a mix-up with producer Horace Hardwick make the path to true love anything but smooth.
Acclaimed American director and choreographer Kathleen Marshall stages this new production. A nine-time Tony nominee and three-time Tony-winning choreographer (Wonderful Town, The Pajama Game, Anything Goes), Marshall recently revived Anything Goes in London, earning nine Olivier nominations and the award for Best Choreographer. She is the first woman to direct, choreograph, and direct a musical on Broadway.
