City of Code & Light Lantern Parade

Join the City of Code & Light Lantern Parade in Milton Keynes City Centre on Saturday 4 Oct for a magical evening of illuminated art and family fun!

Mind & Matter Projection – 7:15PM
Experience a large-scale projection by multimedia studio Limbic Cinema, illuminating MK Central Library with the story of astronomy, from ancient stargazers to modern discoveries. The projection begins at 7:15PM, followed by the Lantern Parade.

Lantern Parade – 7:35PM
Join the city procession led by artist Emma Garofalo, featuring willow lanterns created by local school groups inspired by stars and constellations. Starting at MK Central Library at 7:30PM, the parade will wind through the city and finish at the John Lewis Car Park, Milton Keynes, where guests can enjoy music, food, and more activities.

In Infinity – From 6PM
Step into In Infinity, an immersive galaxy installation created with Goldsmiths University of London students Jie Shuai & Xin Yan. Using interactive floor projection, the piece lets audiences explore a cosmic landscape of sound and shifting light, connecting human life with the rhythms of the stars. Available from 6PM at the John Lewis Car Park, Milton Keynes.

Live Music & Food Stalls – 6PM–8PM
Enjoy an evening of community music, delicious refreshments, and celebration from 6PM at the John Lewis Car Park, Milton Keynes.
